About Hywell Sock Care
They can if exposed to heat. To minimise shrinkage, turn them inside out, wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, and air dry. Avoid tumble drying or hot water—heat is the main cause of shrinkage and loss of elasticity.

Yes, but please use a low heat setting. High heat may damage the elastic fibers and shorten the lifespan of the socks. To extend the life of your socks, we recommend laying them flat to dry. Beforehand, wrap the wet socks in a dry towel and press to absorb excess water—this helps them dry faster.
No, we do not recommend ironing Hywell socks. The heat can damage the technical fibers and elastic components, so it's not worth the risk—and wool socks usually don't wrinkle noticeably—in most cases, a quick smoothing by hand after flat-drying is all it takes. If you really must iron, use only low-temperature steam from a distance.
